Mission Statement
By 2030, UL’s startup incubator will incorporate principles of sustainability into all of its startup programs and work to commercial opportunities identified by the Mission Lab.
Successful sustainability-led innovation requires a commitment to creating a positive impact for people and planet. This missions sees UL orient its venture incubator toward the nurturing of sustainability- led startups. In doing so, aspiring entrepreneurs will be supported by expert mentors on their journey to creating maximum social and ecological impact.
Sustainable Development Goals
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a set of 17 global goals adopted by the United Nations in 2015 to promote sustainable development and address social, economic, and environmental challenges. Each mission and associated project within the Mission Lab portfolio is directly linked to one or more SDGs, ensuring all efforts are in service of true impact.

Metrics
Official metrics are yet to be defined by the mission team and additional key stakeholders. This will occur upon commencement of the mission projects and will be influenced by data derived from baseline studies of the systems relevant to each mission.
Mission Model
The mission model is a structured framework that guides the development and execution of each mission. This model allows for a flexible and dynamic approach to mission-based work, where diverse stakeholders can come together to create positive change.
